A Waltz for Matilda by Jackie French
This is one of Jackie's best! The story begins in 1894 and follows Matilda as she overcomes her struggles and finds her independence. It is a time of no votes for women, the harshness of the country, bushfires and war. The story is based around the famous A. B Paterson poem and keeps you entranced throughout the entire story.
