One of my favourite pastimes, which I find very relaxing, is baking.This cookbook is full of old fashioned tried and true traditional recipes which have been handed down through the generations. The Show winners commence with scones, progress through cakes, puddings, pies, slices and tarts to the finale....pickles and jams.
As well as pictures of the goodies, there are old fashioned Show pictures e.g. a beautiful kelpie, a wood chopper.
I have tried, tested and tasted many of the recipes in this book, with my favourite being on page 44, moist and easy chocolate cake, a winner at the Morisset/Lake Macquarie Show when entered by Barbara Potter.
Over Easter, why not not treat the family to a good old fashioned afternoon tea?
