The Happiest Refugee documents comedian Anh Do's family escape from war torn Vietnan. The story begins with the familys hazardous journey in a leaky fishing boat and their encounters with pirates, starvation, thirst and the elements.
Once safely in Australia, the story highlights the courage and resilience of Ahn's mother who is left to raise 3 children as a single mum.
The themes of this book are an insipration to all.
The gratitude of the family for the chance at a better life is very obvious.
