The Fifth Witness / Michael Connelly

Occasionally I manage to indulge in the luxury of reading a good book in practically one sitting; this time in 3 days. Selected from the Fast Back stand at Sutherland Library I was able to borrow this new, popular fiction title for 10 days, no renewals. If you are lucky enough to find a book here it saves weeks of waiting in a reserve queue.
Michael Connelly writes a fast moving crime story. In this case his defence attorney Micky Haller was working for a client to try to stop the bank repossessing her house and ends up defending her in a murder trial. If this story is anywhere near real life experience I recommend everyone takes care to stay well away from ending up on trial. Truth goes by the wayside of procedure. Haller thinks he can make money on this case by stitching up a movie deal before any work on the trial begins. After all, the scene is set in West Hollywood.
If you like this story there are plenty more - 22 other fiction titles by this author are listed in the blurb.
